TVS hits a new high in two-wheeler exports, Bajaj on a roll in FY2021
With shipments of 764,039 units (12%), TVS contributed 23% to total exports while Bajaj Auto lords with 55% and 1.8 million units.
The Indian two-wheeler industry, to give it its due, has shown its resilience in what was a very challenging FY2021. In the domestic market, with sales of 1,51,19,387 units or a little over 15 million units, total numbers were down 13.19% year on year but the statistics would have been worse if not for improved fortunes in Q4 FY2021.
Interestingly, even as global markets witnessing troubled times of their own, the Indian two-wheeler industry exported all of 3.27 million units – 3,277,724 – which marks a relatively low 6.87% YoY decline (FY2020: 35,19,405). Two companies shine for their made-in-India export ...
