Auto sector sales up 16 percent in April-Jan 2022
UVs had a good run in the 10-month period April to January 2022
Sales of passenger vehicles including cars, UVs and Vans recorded a 16 percent increase for the 10-month period April to January with sales of 2,403,125 units as against 20,54,428 units, according to SIAM. The sales of UV recorded a 46 percent increase from 788601 units to 1152,968 units, the industry body said.
In terms of two-wheelers, all three categories including bikes, scooters and mopes saw a decline from the 10-month period ended January 2022. Sales for the 10 months of this calendar were 11,244,208 units as against 12197112 units in the year earlier period, down 7 percent.
