Zeon Charging opens first fast-charging station at Salem
Plans to expand EV charging network to Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Walayar, Kochi, Villupuram, Krishnagiri and Vellore in South India.
Zeon Charging, a Tamil Nadu-based electric charging infrastructure company, has opened its first 50 kW DC fast charging station in Tamil Nadu. The station is on the Bangalore - Salem - Coimbatore - Kichi highway at Sankagiri in Salem.
The company claims EV users can charge their cars within 20-40 minutes. Thus far, Zeon has three EV charging stations in Coimbatore, Tirupur and the newly opened DC fast charging station.
Customers can also find and initiate charging through an app and can also locate the nearest chargers, check availability, make a reservation, navigate to the charger’s location and even make payments. The location also has a lounge where customers can rest while the EV gets the ‘juice’.
The company plans to set up more chargers in locations across major cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Walayar, Kochi, Villupuram, Krishnagiri and Vellore in South India, and also along the highways connecting these cities in the next six months. "Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of EVs thereby making mobility more sustainable," the company said in a statement.
