Volkswagen India today inaugurated its new 3S (sales, service and spares) dealership in New Delhi – Volkswagen Capital – taking up the total dealership count to 118 showrooms across 101 cities. Across the Delhi-NCR region, the carmaker now has nine dealerships.

Located at Mathura Road, Volkswagen Capital, Automark Motors is part of the Landmark Group which has a chain of automotive dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.
Along with a large display area for cars, trained sales and aftersales staff, Volkswagen Capital also has a 25-bay workshop equipped with spares and staffed by professionally trained technicians. The workshop can undertake general repair and maintenance, as well as body and paint repair work.

Speaking at the showroom inauguration, Michael Mayer, director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said: “We have had a longstanding association with Automark Motors and strongly believe in their capabilities of providing to our customers in Delhi in keeping with Volkswagen’s global standards.”

With a number of new product launches lined up over the next 24 months (new Beetle by end-2015,  compact sedan by January 2016, new Passat by February 2016, and new Tiguan by mid-2016), Volkswagen is fast looking to beef up its dealer and service network in India.

In April 2014-15, VW India sold a total of 45,018 cars, down 14.30% over the previous fiscal. In April 2015, the carmaker sold 3,572 units, up 17.77% YoY and in May 2015 it sold 4,167 units, a 57% growth over May 2014 sales.

The company’s successful global export strategy has helped it cushion domestic sales and currently 60% of its production from the Chakan plant is exported. In 2014-15, VW India shipped 64,994 cars overseas, recording 95% YoY growth.
