Swedish luxury car maker Volvo Car India opened a new dealership in Chennai under the ownership of Prakar Automotive (Volvo Tamil Nadu). The strategic move is in line with the carmaker’s retail plan to target markets in South India which have aspirational customers. The new dealership was inaugurated by Charles Frump, Managing Director, Volvo Car India.
The showroom at Anna Salai Road and workshop at TVK Industrial Estate incorporate state-of-the-art facilities and are designed as Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) concept. The showroom and workshop facility cover 7000 square feet and 10,000 square feet.
Speaking at the inauguration, Charles Frump said, “Chennai is a very important market in India as it is among the fastest growing metro cities and a home to aspiring and affluent families. Our new dealership will help us in reaching out to the growing market and achieving our goal of providing safe and sustainable luxury mobility to our customers in India. Volvo Cars believes in providing best-in-class experience to its customers and ensures a top-notch customer experience throughout the customer journey. Volvo Cars currently markets its products through 25 dealerships in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR (South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida), Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Pune, Raipur, Surat, Vishakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
