Volvo Eicher sales up 28 percent in September 2015
The company sold 4,248 units in September 2015 as compared to 3,326 units in September 2014, registering a growth of 27.7%.
In line with strong performance of the medium and heavy commercial vehicle segment, VE Commercial Vehicles (JV between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors) with product offering in the intermediate commercial vehicles and medium and heavy commercial vehicles segment has notched up healthy double digit growth in the September sales.
The company sold 4,248 units in September 2015 as compared to 3,326 units in September 2014, registering a growth of 27.7%. This includes 4,047 units of Eicher brand and 201 units of the Volvo brand.
Eicher branded trucks and buses have witness total sales of 4,047 units in September 2015. (September 2014: 3,176 units) notching growth of 27.4%.
In the domestic CV market 5T and above, Eicher Trucks and Buses have recorded sales of 3,452 units (September 2014:2,781) a growth of 24.1%.
On the exports front, Eicher Trucks and Buses have recorded a healthy 50.6% growth, selling 595 units in September 2015 (September 2014: 395 units).
Volvo, which caters the premium trucks segment, has recorded sales of 201 units in September 2015 (September 2014: 150 units) a growth of 34%.
Taking on the growing competition in the M&HCV segment, the company is currently rolling out its new generations Pro Series trucks across the country.
In December 2013, the company introduced its all-new product range called the Eicher Pro series comprising 11 new products (both trucks and buses) that cover the 5- to 49-tonne gross vehicle weight range and is now in the process of launching them in phases.
