Volkswagen India gets latest ISO 9001:2015 certification
Following an audit by TÜV India and TÜV Nord Group, VW Plant Pune becomes the first company within the VW Group to get latest ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Volkswagen India has become the first company within the Volkswagen Group and one of the first companies in India to get the ISO 9001:2015 certification. This latest ISO 9001:2015 certificate has been released less than three months ago.
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) defines worldwide standards for companies to ensure that they deliver consistent quality to their customers. ISO standards also act as a tool to streamline the processes of the companies and thus help in making their operations more efficient.
At the beginning of December 2015, TÜV India and TÜV Nord Group conducted a three-day audit at the Volkswagen Pune Plant to check all the related processes of car production and engine assembly. The audit was self-initiated by VW India’s Quality Assurance department to pursue its commitment towards adherence of quality and customer satisfaction.
Commenting on the certification, Dr Andreas Lauermann, president and managing director, Volkswagen India, said: “At Volkswagen, we believe in delivering highest quality, every time and in every action. The efforts of our teams at Pune Plant have paid off well with the recognition of the latest ISO 9001:2015 certification adding further credibility to our company. It gives me immense pride to be the first company within the Volkswagen Group to be acknowledged with this international certification. I would like to congratulate our Quality Assurance team for successfully completing this audit.”
The ISO 9001:2015 was recently released by International Organisation for Standardisation with updates that emphasise on risk-based management. The new updates to the certification also include a closer focus on the automotive sector with process approach and organisational issues.
