The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today announced new office-bearers for the year 2018-19. Vikram Kirloskar, chairman and managing director of Kirloskar Systems and vice-chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has been appointed the new CII vice-president for 2018-19.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today announced new office-bearers for the year 2018-19. Vikram Kirloskar, chairman and managing director of Kirloskar Systems and vice-chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, has been appointed the new CII vice-president for 2018-19.
Mr Kirloskar has recently stepped down as chairman, CII Southern Region during 2017-18 after completing his term. He has been president of apex automobile industru body SIAM for the 2013-15 period. Mr Kirloskar has been associated with CII for many years and has been Chairman of Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) Board from its inception in 2012-13. Mr Kirloskar has chaired several national committees and Councils of CII in the areas of Manufacturing, R&D, Design, Innovation, Technology and CSR.
Mr Kirloskar, who is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, also serves on the Boards of Kirloskar Pneumatic Company, Kirloskar Proprietary, Quadrant Communications, Denso Kirloskar Industries, Kirloskar Technologies, Toyata Material Handling India, and Global Innovation and Technology Alliance, among others.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal, vice-chairman, Bharti Enterprises has assumed office as the new president of CII. He takes over from Ms Shobana Kamineni, executive vice-chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise. Uday Kotak, founder and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, takes over as president designate of CII for 2018-19.
