Updated Ertiga gets more power, CNG option
The company has also introduced a CNG option to the new line-up, using the same 1.5 DualJet engine
Maruti has launched the updated Ertiga with an upgraded 1.5-litre petrol engine with DualJet technology, and start-stop technology, the first time that this engine, offered by the company in its 1.0 and 1.2 litre K series engines is being offered on the larger 1.5 litre motor.
The same engine is expected to go in other, bigger Maruti cars.
The company has also introduced a CNG option to the new line-up, using the same 1.5 DualJet engine. The MPV get a restyled front end and changes to the interior. The Ertiga line-up starts at Rs 8.35 lakh going up to Rs 11.29 lakh for the top-end non-automatic variant. The vehicle Tour M variant gets a CNG option as well which is clearly targeted at the taxi segment as well as economy-minded buyers who want to keep their ownership costs in check.
In terms of design, the Ertiga gains a new front grille with an embedded 'winged' chrome trim, new dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome garnish on the tailgate. Changes in the vehicle’s interiors include new Metallic Teak Wooden finish (faux wood) on the dashboard and a new dual-tone seat fabric.
The new XL6 is a part of Maruti plan to launch six new models by mid-2022. These include the Baleno CNG, which will be sold in under Nexa, an updated Vitara Brezza, and DualJet-equipped Ignis and S-Presso. Later in the year, Maruti will also launch the all-new Creta SUV being developed in collaboration with Toyota.
