SA-based motorcycle brand UM Motorcycles has just partnered with Indian Lohia Auto in a 50-50 joint venture in India to market an entirely new range of motorcycles designed especially for the Indian market. The two companies will invest approximately Rs 120 crore in the project over a definite period.

The manufacturing unit will be located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand in Lohia Auto’s current facility, which is capable of producing 100,000 units per year. The company will initially offer cruiser motorcycles in the market at affordable prices, with production starting by the second quarter of 2015.
