UM Motorcycles announces price hike by up to 5%

UM Motorcycles, the Indian arm of the American motorcycle maker UM International LLC, along with Lohia Auto, today announced an increase in price for their product range in India.

The Renegade Commando will now be available at Rs 1.64 lakh, whereas the Renegade Sports S will now cost Rs 1.57 lakh. The price revision was effective from January  1, 2017. (All prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Commenting on the price revision, Rajeev Mishra, director, UML said, “This price revision is on account of increase in the cost of raw material and other cost of operations. We have rationalised the costs, but taken care that impact is minimal. We also continue to offer finance at attractive interest rates for customers to enter the brand.”

The Renegade Commando is a low-slung cruiser powered by a high-powered 280 cc engine with 25 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 NM of torque at 7,000 rpm, mated to a six-speed transmission. The bike was earlier available at Rs 1.59 lakh.

The Renegade Sports S model also shares the same engine as the Renegade Commando. An innovative feature called Service Alert Maintenance comes as a standard fitment in both Renegade Commando and Renegade Sports S. The LED Lights come as a standard in Sports S version. Six-speed synchronized mesh has been added for easy cruising. The Renegade sport was earlier priced at Rs 1.49 lakh.
