UK universities and IIT Delhi partner to tackle air pollution crisis

University of Surrey and University of Birmingham win £1.2m funding as part of UK- and India-sponsored NERC-MOES programme. ASAP project will see academics undertake in-depth assessment of the causes and extent of air pollution in Delhi.

Academics at the University of Surrey and University of Birmingham have won funding of £1.2 million (Rs 11.81 crore) from NERC (the Natural Environment Research Council) of the UK to conduct the first quantitative assessment of air pollution in Delhi, India’s second largest city.
