Following Tyre Expo India 2015 in Chennai, the Tyre Expo Series today launched its event at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. Held from June 14-16, it is targeted at the North India tyre market.
Commenting at the launch, Eileen Hair, project director of the Automotive and Commodities cluster said, “When we first launched Tyre Expo in Chennai, we recognised the growth potential of the tyre industry in India. With New Delhi expected to become one of the world’s largest tyre manufacturing centres over the next decade, we felt that it is time for us to expand our coverage in India.”
Duplicating the format of the Chennai event in 2015, the New Delhi event focuses on four segments – tyres, automotive repair and maintenance, services and smart solutions and tyre sustainability.
Workshops, seminars and congress
Apart from showcasing tyres, the event will host ‘Tyre Retail Congress’, a new one-day conference as part of the ‘Tyre Expo TechTalk Seminar (TTS)’. The objective of the congress, co-located with Tyre Expo, is to bring together tyre brands, retailers, distributors and auto enthusiasts to engage in discussions about the impact of technological advancements and new disruptions in the sector.
Industry experts and leaders from the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA), Bosch, Elgi Rubber and others are to speak about the various challenges and trends that business professionals face to stay competitive in the market.
Last year’s exhibitor, Sachin Kadve, senior executive of Business Development, Siemens India commented: “What is new in this fair is the TyreTalk Seminar. It is a great platform to show our partners and customers the latest developments in the tyre industry.”
There are a total of 70 exhibitors including 40 from India, 18 from China, and a few from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the UK. Trade visitors will be able to source and discover a new range of products, services and solutions for India and the export market. Both exhibitors and visitors will be able to find new solutions on tyre recycling, sustainable and smart solutions that can be used to manage or run their businesses.
“With these technological advancements, the tyre industry in India can potentially experience a transformation in product designs and functionalities. Testing standards can also evolve to ensure high performance, fuel efficiency, safety, reliability and durability of the tyres,” added Eileen.
