Suzuki launches Let’s scooter at Rs 46,925

The Let’s will compete in the very competitive 110cc segment that is now dominated by the Honda Activa. The Let’s is Suzuki’s first entry-level scooter offering and will cost Rs 46,925, ex-showroom, Chennai. It is targeted at youth in the age group 18-22.
The launch took place at Chennai because the south is a growing market for scooters, senior company officials said. Suzuki Motorcycles is also expanding its dealer and service network by 400 touchpoints to 1,000 by the end of the current fiscal.
“We are looking at 10,000 units per month of this new scooter once it is launched across the country,” said Atul Gupta, executive VP-sales and marketing. Gupta added that Let’s will further strength the company’s product presence in the category along with Swish and Access, both in the 125cc segment.
The Let’s weighs 98kg and is powered by a compact engine that incorporates the Suzuki Eco Performance-technology. Its offers 63 kpl, the company has said.
Ichiro Kondo, president- sales and marketing operations said, “With the Let’s, we will be able to offer better mileage, compact size, good suspension and better ride quality.”
Suzuki’s current marketshare in India is 8.24 percent for 2013-14, down from 11 percent in the year-earlier period.
