CBS variant of Suzuki Access 125 launched at Rs 58,980
The CBS variant costs Rs 630 more than the standard variant. It is offered in the disc variant only. Suzuki has also revealed new colour options for the special edition.
Suzuki has launched the new Access 125 with an optional combined brake system (CBS) at Rs 58,980 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The benefit of CBS is that both the brakes are applied using the left brake lever, reducing the possibility of the rear wheel locking up and sliding. CBS also can reduce the braking distance under certain conditions. The system, however, is only offered on the disc brake variant of the Access 125.
The Suzuki Access 125 with front disc brake is priced at Rs 58,350, which means the CBS-equipped variant carries a premium of just Rs 630. The Access 125 CBS will be available in six colours – Pearl Suzuki Deep Blue, Candy Sonoma Red, Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Fibroin Gray, Metallic Sonic Silver and Pearl Mirage White.
Along with the CBS variant, Suzuki also introduced a new colour option for the Access 125 Special Edition. It’s now available in Metallic Sonic Silver with a beige leatherette seat. The special-edition Access retails for Rs 60,580.
The Access CBS 125 gets no mechanical changes and is powered by the same 124cc, single-cylinder engine developing 8.7hp and 10.2Nm of torque. The Access 125 mainly competes against the Honda Activa 125 in intent, but it also has other rivals in the 125cc space like the Honda Grazia, TVS Ntorq 125 and Aprilia SR125.
Starting April 1, 2019, it will be mandatory for all two-wheelers below 125cc sold in India to feature CBS, but Suzuki is implementing it almost a year before the norm got implemented.
