Bangalore-based Sushma Industries, which participated at the Automotive Testing Expo in Chennai last month, displayed force torque pressure sensors, force gauge and display units, spring testers, force test stands, torque tool testers, automotive testing system and motor testing system.
These are part of its 200-strong product range for R&D, product validation, homologation and quality testing. At ATE, the company launched an indigenously developed data acquisition system display unit.
According to Suveer Sadanand, director and CEO, Sushma Industries, “We are looking at two major areas – performance measurement of the entire vehicle, and component and material level testing.”
The company has recently forayed into the Middle East and Africa markets and is looking to enter Europe. “We have launched material testing and very high end accuracy testing equipment. Our focus is to provide a lot more and high value equipment to the customer. This is in line with our strategy to enter international markets,” said Sadanand.
While Sushma Industries also supplies to the aerospace, electronic and electrical and engineering sectors, automotive is its single largest business vertical with 35 percent of the total business. Banking on its innovative and high value products, it is now looking at recording 50 percent growth over the next two years.
The company is also moving into a new business line of automation and robotics for the auto industry. This will involve complete process automation and end-of-line testing which will help auto component makers to set up automation for the entire product development process. Talks with prospective customers have already been initiated. “Our USP is in our measurement equipment which, along with automation, can give us a bigger advantage. We see the gap as automation companies don’t look at measurement,” added Sadanand.
