3D printing is opening a new array of possibilities in the manufacturing space worldwide, enabling a easier method to produce various things at a cheaper cost and also saving time. India with its quest for becoming a global manufacturing hub is no different when it comes to the domestic industries adopting the latest technological trends. Stratasys, one of the leading 3D printing solutions company, had organised the first annual APJ User Conference for providing a platform for the industry and end-users to exchange insights on the future of printing technology in manufacturing.
The conference saw over 300 experts and customers share their insights on additive manufacturing roadmap, while speakers representing from the Indian industry shared their experiences on how they were driving innovation using 3D Printing. The forum also saw experts showcasing a wide array of 3D printing solutions across verticals.
3D printing technology has made rapid strides in India especially in the last couple of years. Infact, according to Netscribes research, the global 3D healthcare printing market is expected to be worth USD 1.3 billion (Rs 8,212 crore) by 2020. The technology is predominantly being used in the field of aerospace, automotive, education, healthcare and other industries.
Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Stratasys India said, “There is a vast market opportunity in product prototyping which is not being addressed by the current 3D-printing systems and our annual User Conference provides an excellent platform for industry leaders to exchange knowledge and discuss about the ever-changing dynamics of the industry. Every single industry will be revolutionised by 3D printing and we see the use of 3D printing evolving in the future.”
The company also showcased the Voxel Print software solution at the forum which provides true voxel level control during the design and 3D printing process to manipulate 3D printed material concentrations, structures and colour mapping of a model.
