Skoda Auto today announced the start of production for the new Kodiaq SUV at its manufacturing facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
First introduced to India and the world in 2017, the Kodiaq’s sales success has fuelled newer features, newer looks, powerful yet efficient engines and the same levels of customer satisfaction for what remains the Czech carmaker’s first-ever global SUV. Built on the acclaimed MQB platform, the Kodiaq further builds on its strengths of safety, driving dynamics, comfort and technology.
Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India said, “The new Kodaiq is part of the overall SUV offensive of the Group in India. With the start of production at our world-class facility in Aurangabad, we add yet another product that provides the Indian customer with the best of technology, safety and comfort. Kushaq powers Skoda sales in April-November 2021
Skoda Auto India is on a roll in the current fiscal. The carmaker has sold a total of 17,608 units in the April-November 2021, up 151% YoY (April-November 2020: 7,000). The best-seller is the recently launched Kushaq (11,173 units), followed by the Rapid (3,953), Octavia (1,237), Superb (1,223), Kodiaq (21) and Karoq (1). While its PV market share has risen to 0.96% from 0.48% a year ago, its UV share has increased to 1.29% from 0.18% a year ago.
