Robert Bosch Engineering rebranded
RBEI's rebranding aims to strengthen business strategy
The largest software and technology centre for Bosch outside Germany is now Bosch Global Software Technologies
The new name effective January 3, is the biggest change that Robert Bosch Engineering India has undertaken since its inception 25 years ago. The restructuring which began in Q2 2020, at the height of the pandemic, is part of efforts to enhance business strategy and adapt to changing market dynamics. The strategic name change reflects the enhancement in the company’s capabilities, competencies, and working engagements.
CEO, President and MD, Dattatri Salagame, said, "This name change is an emphatic commitment to strengthen our best-in-class software engineering. We aim to provide an environment that is conducive to create, innovate and experiment to solve important customer problems using technology.”
Bengaluru-based Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW) will expand its talent base by hiring 5,500 engineers with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, cyber security, blockchain and other new-age technology skills in the areas of automotive, IT and digital.
It will also invest more than USD 8-10 million (Rs 60 crore to 74 crore) to create platforms for innovation and promote R&D in these new-age technologies. Also planned are tech centres in Hyderabad and Pune in India, and Hanoi, Vietnam.
BGSW recently inaugurated a Hacker’s Garage, the IoT Garage and an internal ‘innovation’ fund that aims to promote an environment that incubates and nurtures new technology ideas.
