Radiant Polymers looks to make lightweighting gains

Specialist in safety critical applications, Radiant Polymers is working hard to raise the bar in plastic component technology. While its expertise spans across critical components for fuel tanks (the firm is the largest manufacturer of fuel senders and fuel tank closure systems, it supplies to a French fuel tank maker), to integrating metals and electronics with rigid plastics, it is aiming for vast opportunities of localising lightweight plastic components and assemblies in India.

Speaking to Autocar Professional at the recent Auto Expo in New Delhi, Nitin Bahl, director, Radiant Polymers (pictured above), said that “OEMs usually import crucial plastic components in India at present. Major OEMs are directing their suppliers to localise their plastic components with us.”

Among the displayed products at its stall, Bahl showcased up an engine cooling module, wherein the firm has achieved weight reduction by 200 grams. The company grew by 38 percent during FY2012-13 and according to the official, it has already registered a 36 percent growth YoY in the first nine months of FY2013-14.
