Piaggio Vehicles, the wholly owned Indian subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group, has launched the Vespa Esclusivo in the domestic market. Only 1,000 units of this model, built on the Vespa VX, are to be made with each to be individually badged. The scooter comes with new body decals and graphics, black and silver alloy combination wheels and dual-coloured seats.

The company says the Vespa Esclusivo, which is available in three colours – Monte Bianco (White), Rosso Dragon (Red) and Nero Matt (Black) – has been showcased in consumer clinics conducted in Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore and pre-bookings are underway.

Speaking at the launch, Ravi Chopra, chairman and managing director, Piaggio Vehicles, said, “Piaggio is delighted to offer this stylish, limited edition Vespa Esclusivo for fans across the nation. It symbolises Piaggio’s position in the premium scooter segment that the group has successfully created in the Indian market.”

The company says it is likely to roll out a couple of such limited edition models each year.
