Omega Seiki unveils electric SCV with 250km range
As per the company details, M1KA is equipped with a lightweight, NMC-based battery of 90 kWh which will offer a range 250km on a single charge.
Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM), part of the Anglian Omega Group, has unveiled its first electric Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) christened ‘M1KA’.
On September 3, Autocar Professional had broken the news on the company’s plans to launch an e-SCV with 250km range. The company says it will start accepting bookings of the vehicle from Quarter 4 of 2021.
As per company details, M1KA is equipped with a lightweight, NMC-based 90 kWh battery which will offer a range of 250km on a single charge. A full charge takes four hours using DC fast charging stations. The electric SCV has a payload capacity of two tonnes; six leaf springs suspension in the front and at the rear help provide a comfortable ride. The vehicle comes with a large 10-feet loading area designed to carry heavy as well as voluminous load.
OSM says it is targeting the customer segment which is a combination of owner-cum-driver and fleet owners. The M1KA can be used for multiple applications including courier, goods distribution, e-commerce and FMCG amongst others.
