Nissan opens third regional parts distribution centre in India
New distribution facility in Chakan, Pune, will service 35 Nissan dealerships in the western and central India. Will help reduce parts delivery time by up to 3 days
Nissan Motor India today inaugurated its third regional Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) as part of its strategic expansion plan to strengthen its aftersales service across the country.
The Chennai-based carmaker has already set an industry benchmark in parts availability with a fill rate – which measures how many customer orders can be met from existing inventory at the dealerships – of 96% in FY2015. The new parts distribution centre located in Pune, Maharashtra, will further improve service to customers by speeding up parts delivery to dealers in the western and central regions of India. Dealers will receive parts they order within 3 to 5 days.

Announcing the opening of the new facility, Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said, “Nissan is a customer-centric organisation and we are focused on providing the best aftersales experience to our customers. We have brought the best global customer service practices to India, and we are continuing to invest with our new parts distribution centre in Pune to come closer to our customers.”
The new facility in Chakan, Pune, which is spread across 60,278 square feet, is manned by 70 staffers who will cater to 35 Nissan dealerships in Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Daman & Diu, in the drive for reduced lead time of spare parts.
Of Nissan Motor India’s two other PDCs, one is located in Chennai, which has an all-India coverage. The second facility is in Haryana and caters to Delhi and the National Capital Region, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
