Netherland-based automotive parts maker Helvoet has been increasing its exports from India, following growing demand for its products in overseas markets.

Netherland-based automotive parts maker Helvoet has been increasing its exports from India, following growing demand for its products in overseas markets.
Helvoet, which has its production plant in Pune, primarily manufactures parts for the fuel system, braking and engine cooling in India.
Speaking to Autocar Professional, Avinash Kapoor, director (Operations), Helvoet Rubber & Plastic Technologies, said, “We are currently exporting around 48 percent of our production in India to our overseas customers.”
China, which is one of the major export markets for Helvoet’s made-in-India products, sees shipments of four million pieces of fuel pump impellers a year, Kapoor added.
Its other major overseas markets include North America, Europe and Indonesia. Along with India, the company, which has a 400-strong global product portfolio, has also plants in the Netherland, Belgium, Germany, Poland and USA.
In India, the company manufactures 180 products at its Pune facility which is staffed by 250 workers. Of its global turnover of 80 million euros, 10-12 percent is generated from India and growing at 10 percent every year, a growth rate that is estimated to be the same till 2020, added Kapoor. The company’s Indian clientele includes Continental, Delphi, Wabco, Denso, Bosch, Knorr-Bremse, Mahle, Kendrion, BWI, Philips and Mitsuba.
The components of the fuel pump made by Helvoet are made from materials such as PPS, phenolic and POM with glass and mineral content over 65 percent. Helvoet is the market leader for this application, with its parts being built into more than 20 million cars yearly.
