Maruti Suzuki launches BS VI Ertiga at Rs 754,689
With this, the carmaker has five models – Alto, Baleno, Swift, Wagon R and the Ertiga – that meet BS VI emissions norms ahead of the April 2020 mandate.
In line with its BS VI model upgrade strategy, Maruti Suzuki India, the country's largest carmaker, has announced launch of its BS VI-ready petrol-engined Ertiga MPV. With this, the carmaker has five models – Alto, Baleno, Swift, Wagon R and the Ertiga – that meet BS VI emissions norms ahead of the mandate that kicks in from April 1, 2020.
The BS VI-compliant Ertiga (petrol) has been launched at prices starting from Rs 754,689 (petrol) through to Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi-NCR). In a statement, Maruti Suzuki India said: "This will result in a price increase in all variants of Ertiga (Petrol)."
The Ertiga MPV remains a popular buy and is a regular in the Top 5 best selling UVs in the country. In June 2019, it ranked fourth with a total of 7,567 units sold. On July 27, Maruti Suzuki India had launched the CNG-powered Ertiga at Rs 887,689.
The new Ertiga, which was launched on November 23, 2018, is proving to be a popular buy even in a depressed market. As per Autocar Professional's data, the new second-generation Ertiga has sold a total of 61,317 units for the eight-month November 2018-June 2019 period, averaging 7,664 units each month or 255 units every single day. The 61,317 units sold comprise 31,608 petrol variants and 29,709 diesel, making for a petrol:diesel ratio of 51:49 percent.
