Mahindra launches e-Alfa Cargo at Rs 144,000

The company claims an e Alfa Cargo owner can save up to Rs 60,000 per year in fuel costs when compared with a diesel cargo three-wheeler.

Mahindra Electric Mobility, part of the Mahindra Group has launched its new electric three-wheeler, the e Alfa Cargo at Rs 144,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), which formally marks Mahindra’s foray into e-cart segment.

Suman Mishra, CEO, Mahindra Electric Mobility said, “The last-mile delivery segment is seeing excellent adoption of electric three-wheelers due to significant operating cost advantages versus fossil fuel powered three-wheelers. We are now launching the e Alfa Cargo e-cart in response to the customer requirements in this segment. With savings of Rs 60,000 over a diesel cargo three-wheeler, the e Alfa Cargo aims to provide a sustainable, pollution-free solution in the cargo segment.”

The company claims that the e Alfa Cargo has a running cost of just 59 paise per kilometre (considering electricity charges at Rs 8/unit). The e-3-wheeler comes with dual speed manual transmission with an integrated differential with gradeability of 7 degree and 1.5 kW peak power. It offers a payload capacity of 310kg, 80km range, top speed of 25kph and can be charged with an off board 48 V/15 A charger.

The fully digital instrument cluster display state of charge (SoC), range, speed and other useful as well as vital read-outs at a glance. The company is providing warranty of 1 year/unlimited kilometre.
