Mahindra looks to farm growth with Novo 65, 75hp tractors

The Novo tractors are available in 2WD and 4WD variants; Mahindra plans to launch a 75hp 4WD AC cabin tractor, which it currently sells in the US, in India shortly.

Mahindra & Mahindra's tractor making arm, Farm Equipment Sector, has launched two new Novo tractors in the 65hp and 75hp categories. TWhile the 65hp 2WD (655 DI) retails at Rs 999,000, the 75hp 4WD (755 DI) has a sticker price of Rs 12.5 lakh (both ex-showroom Maharashtra).

The Novo range has been designed and developed in-house at the Mahindra Research Valley, M&M's global R&D facility in Chennai, employing extensive research and insights from farmer feedback across 12 states. It says that during the seeding phase, the tractors were tested for performance in 37 applications across 8 states for a cumulative 25,000 hours.

According to Rajesh Jejurikar, president – Farm Equipment Sector, M&M, “As a part of Farming 3.0 initiative, the focus is on cutting-edge technology and superior farming solutions. We take great pride in presenting this state-of-the-art 65-75hp range of Mahindra Novo tractors to the evolved Indian farmers.”

The new range is aimed at delivering higher productivity and precision, and M&M claims it has the highest engine torque with best-in-class fuel efficiency. It is equipped with Mahindra’s Digisense technology for remote tracking of the tractor’s health and location. It also features a full flat platform with suspension seats and ergonomic controls.

Mahindra says it will provide a three-year engine warranty with 400 hours of service interval. The Nuvo tractor also come with factory fitted roll over protection structure (ROPS) for driver safety and high gloss metallic colour with three-dimensional chrome decals.

Additionally, Mahindra has announced its plans to launch the 75hp 4WD AC cabin tractor  in India shortly, which it already sells in the US market.
