LML ropes in Saera Electric Auto as a contract manufacturer

LML which announced its plans to make a comeback in the Indian two-wheeler market through the electric vehicle route has announced a strategic tie-up with Saera Electric Auto, which it says is one of the largest auto two-wheeler producers formerly manufacturing for Harley Davidson.

As per the understanding, Saera’s state-of-the-art facility located at Bawal, Haryana will produce the upcoming LML electric vehicles.

LML intends to build a future-ready manufacturing facility using Saera's cutting-edge technology and processes. This is the first of many steps for LML to transition into a 100% ‘Make in India’ company by end-2025. The manufacturing plant spans 217,800 square feet has a capacity to produce 18,000 units per month.

Dr. Yogesh Bhatia, CEO, LML said, "We are very pleased to announce this important collaboration with one of the most reputed manufacturing names in the two-wheeler and auto segment. Saera was our first choice because the company holds unparalleled expertise and reputation with some of the world's premier auto brands. At LML, we hold a strong vision with this alliance as we aspire to create a brand that is 100% localised and has an impeccable quality assurance that is world-class.”

In 1980s, the OEM had collaborated with Piaggio to sell the LML-Vespa in India.
