KPIT showcases its expertise at transport expo in Johannesburg
KPIT is displaying its range of products and solutions for public transportation including the Intelligent Transportation System and electrification technology for buses at the i-Transport and UATP Conference and Exhibition.
Global technology firm KPIT Technologies, which specialises in IT consulting and product engineering, is currently participating at the i-Transport and UATP Conference and Exhibition held from February 13-16 and organised by the Intelligent Transport Society of South Africa.
KPIT is showcasing its range of products and solutions for public transportation including the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) and electrification technology for buses.

The KPIT stall being inaugurated by Dr. Ismail Vadi, MEC for Roads and Transport, Gauteng, South Africa; Paul Mashatile, Gauteng chairperson of ANC and former premier of Gauteng Province; and K J Srinivasa, consul general of India in Johannesburg, along with other commercial officials from the Indian Embassy in South Africa.
Hosted every alternate year since 2001, the i-Transport and UATP Conference and Exhibition has become an established event on the transport calendar as a platform for knowledge sharing in South Africa and adjoining regions. The theme ‘Future of Public Transport: Go Green - Go Smart’ reflects the need to improve transport efficiencies, to reduce the carbon footprint of the transport sector and to encourage modal shifts. It also reflects the strong synergy between public transport and intelligent transport systems. Sukhvinder Mehta, VP and Geography Head - Middle East, Turkey & Africa (META) will be speaking on ‘Intelligent Transport Systems driving profitability for public bus transportation’ at the conference.
