Jaguar Land Rover India has announced the start of local manufacturing of Jaguar’s first performance SUV – the F-Pace, which becomes the sixth model in the luxury car maker’s product portfolio to be made in India.
Importantly, as a result of local assembly, the price of the luxury performance SUV has dropped by a whopping Rs 20 lakh to Rs 60.02 lakh for the 2.0-litre Prestige variant (ex-showroom India).
The company has commenced local assembly for only the 2018 model year 20d AWD Prestige trim, which is the sole variant of the SUV on sale at present. The more powerful F-Pace 30d has been discontinued for now but could be reintroduced later.
Commenting on the made-in-India F-Pace, Rohit Suri, MD and president, Jaguar Land Rover India, said: “The launch of the locally manufactured F-Pace signifies another milestone in our continued commitment and efforts towards the ‘Make in India’ policy of the government of India.”
The Jaguar range in India includes the XE (starting at Rs 35.85 lakh), XF (starting at Rs 46.46 lakh), F-Pace (starting at Rs 60.02 lakh), XJ (starting at Rs 1.80 crore) and F-Type (starting at Rs 1.34 lakh). All prices ex-showroom in India. JLR India retails its cars through 25 authorised outlets in Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Karnal, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Raipur and Noida.
