India Yamaha Motor restarts Kanchipuram factory
The company is taking all measures at its showrooms, workshops and spare parts counters to ensure safety and protection of its customers.
India Yamaha Motor resumed operations at its Kanchipuram factory in Tamil Nadu. The company had earleir circulated a detailed guideline among its employees in order to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Additionally, several awareness sessions were organised to help everyone understand the importance of these guidelines and ensure commencement of operations in a smooth manner.
After receiving the permission from the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Kancheepuram District on May 5, the company has been making preparations to resume operations at the factory.
The safety measures include health monitoring, social distancing, maintaining hygiene, safety for self, family, co-workers, during transit and at the workplace.
In addition to this, the company is also carrying out frequent sanitisation at the work stations, have made alternate seating arrangements and has enforced staggered timings at the canteen. It is also promoting virtual meetings to ensure maximum safety.
Yamaha is following a step-by-step approach and has asked employees connected with critical functions to report initially in compliance with the SOPs issued by state authorities.
The company’s head office in Chennai also resumed operations. Yamaha continues to emphasise on Work from Home for all the employees wherever possible.
Almost 50 percent of Yamaha dealerships have also re-opened as per the Government guidelines and they are prepared to welcome customers with adequate precaution. The company is taking all measures at its showrooms, workshops and spare parts counters to ensure safety and protection of its customers.
Yamaha is closely monitoring the situation at its other factory locations – Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Faridabad (Haryana) and remaining dealerships and will continue to follow Government guidelines for restarting operations at these locations.
