Hyundai Motor India (HMI) today unveiled the sportier 'N Line' version of its popular B+ segment hatchback - i20.

The i20 N Line debuts Hyundai's performance brand in India, but limits the changes to cosmetic updates over the regular car.

On the outside, the i20 N Line gets differentiating elements such as a red lip on the front bonnet, N Line badges on the grille, red side skirts and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

On the inside, there are N Line badges on the gear shifter and seats with red stitching, as well as paddle shifters on the automatic variant.

The i20 N Line comes powered by the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 120hp. It comes mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic or Hyundai's clutchless manual (iMT) transmission.

According to Tarun Garg, director, Sales, Marketing and Service, HMI, "The car is targeted at young customers in the age group of 25-35 years who are fun loving and are unconventional in their thought processes."

"We believe that Hyundai customer is becoming younger and that is seen by the data as well. So we believe this is the right time for us to really launch a car like this," he added.
