'How technology evolution is creating futuristic Li-ion batteries for EVs'

The final presentation in Autocar Professional's Two-wheeler EV Forum Webinar day 2 was led by Arun Pratap Singh, COO and Co-founder, Matter. He dealt at length on developments in technology and their impact on futuristic Li-ion batteries for EVs.

Singh said “The key trends driving the adoption of EV are rapid urbanisation, government support, India’s growth as a manufacturing hub and sustainability. Sustainability is critical because we can see what is happening to our environment and we don’t want to leave this world worse than what we took from the previous generation. So with that intent, I think electric mobility is the only option humanity has today.”

Matter is a technology start-up focusing on electric mobility and battery solutions. Singh has over 25 years of experience in the electric vehicles, bus and battery industries. His work entails leading strategy and innovation across business functions and has been instrumental in developing new industrial categories in the EV market as well as contributed to India’s EV policy roadmap. He is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and IIM Ahmedabad and has held management positions and Tata Motors and Epsilon Batteries among others.
