Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has begun despatches of the recently unveiled 160cc X-Blade premium commuter motorcycle. Priced at Rs 78,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), it slots in between the Honda CB Unicorn and the CB Hornet 160R.
The new Honda X-Blade, which was unveiled at the recent 2018 Auto Expo in Noida, is powered by the same 160cc engine that powers the CB Unicorn and CB Hornet 160R. However, at 13.39ps, it develops more power than the CB Unicorn but less than the Hornet 160R.
The X-Blade comes with a front disc variant with no option for a rear disc brake. The CB Unicorn and the CB Hornet 160R have an option to be equipped with CBS, which the X-Blade misses out on. However, with the implementation of the new ABS/CBS policy, all the bikes would get ABS after April 2019.
Justifying its price, the Honda X-Blade comes with a nine-LED position lamp setup (a first in the segment), a new LED tail-lamp design, dual outlet muffler, a rear tyre hugger fender, link type gear shifter, wide 130mm rear tyre, seal chain, hazard switch and a digital meter that also includes a gear position indicator, again a first in the segment.
Pricewise, HMSI has pitched the X-Blade squarely at 160cc premium bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 160 and the new 2018 Suzuki Gixxer (see detailed table with ex-showroom Delhi prices below)
