Honda launches 125cc Shine Celebration Edition at Rs 78,878
The Shine in its Celebration Edition get new graphics, a golden Honda wing emblem and a brown seat.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the Shine Celebration Edition at Rs 78,878 (ex-showroom, Delhi). While it is mechanically identical to the standard Shine commuter motorcycle, a few cosmetic touches help set it apart. The Celebration Edition costs Rs 1,500 more than the standard Honda Shine.
The cosmetic updates include snazzier graphics, a golden Honda wing emblem, celebration edition badge on the tank top and a new brown seat. These changes are similar to what Honda has done with the Activa Premium and the standard Activa 6G scooters.
The Celebration Edition sports the same underpinnings as the proven Shine. It is powered by a 123.94cc single-cylinder engine which develops 10.6hp and 11Nm. Nestling this engine is a diamond type frame suspended by a telescopic fork and twin hydraulic rear shock absorbers. The bike is available in two trims, one with a 130mm drum and another one with a 240mm disc at the front; the rear brake is a 130mm drum on both. Rivals to this bike include the Hero Super Splendor 125 and the recently launched Bajaj CT 125X.
HMSI sold a total of 407,138 motorcycles in July 2022, which is 1.83% YoY growth. Its April-July 2022 wholesales were 1,653,965 bikes, 29% up YoY (April-July 2021: 1,279,048)
