In an attempt to promote road safety and safe riding habits, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) inaugurated a road safety programme in association with Delhi Traffic Police at the 36th India International Trade Fair from November 15 to 27 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The intensive road safety programme and safety riding activities are aimed at spreading road safety awareness among citizens at the Delhi Traffic Police Pavilion, Pragati Maidan.
This year, at the Delhi Traffic Police pavilion, safety riding activities will be conducted for visitors across all age groups. Children in the age group of 5-6 years will be educated on road safety through primary activities like role plays and interactive road safety digital games. To make it a memorable experience for kids, a special drawing competition will be organised and participants will get a chance to win exciting prizes. Family photo booths and a special Digital Selfie Zone will also be present at the pavilion.
Honda CRF 50 training motorcycles will be present at the pavilion to help young minds (9-12 years) understand the importance of safety riding in a protected and controlled environment. Honda also plans to conduct various road safety games for adult visitors. Honda’s skilled safety instructors will help impart knowledge on road safety while riding trainers will help aid riders above 16 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on the road.
Commenting on the initiative, Y S Guleria, senior vice-president – Sales and Marketing, HMSI, said: “As a responsible corporate we are committed towards promoting road safety awareness amongst citizens of the country. Honda has been associated with Delhi Traffic Police and India International Trade Fair since 2007. Our association with Delhi Traffic Police and IITF has given us a huge platform to connect with people, inculcate road safety measures and promote good riding habits amongst them.”
In its 15 years of operations in India, Honda has educated more than 800,000 people of all age groups on safe riding. It has also trained more than 300,000 people at its 10 traffic training parks across India. These include: Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Yeola (Nashik), Indore, two parks in Delhi and Ludhiana.
