Greaves Cotton clocks 5m customers with ‘Made in India’ engines

Greaves Cotton has announced that it is crossed sales of 5 million made-in-India engines. Set up in 1859, the company today has core competencies in diesel and petrol engines, farm equipment and gensets. The company has six manufacturing units backed by comprehensive spares and service through its 3,500 service outlets across India.
Commenting on the landmark, Nagesh Basavanhalli, MD and CEO of Greaves Cotton, “Crossing 5 million engines is a significant milestone which reinforces the trust our OEMs, vendors and end users of three-wheeled and 4-wheeled micro-commercial vehicles have in us. With India getting ready for a technological, regulatory and business model disruption by 2020, we at Greaves are working on future-ready fuel agnostic powertrain services and solutions and we look forward to serving millions of more customers.”
The company has been manufacturing approximately 400,000 engines per year catering to growing demand from a range of automotive and non-automotive applications across the world.
