Exicom, one of India’s leading power solutions company with a presence in telecom, mobility and stationary energy segment has crossed the milestone of installing over 5,000 EV chargers including AC and DC chargers across 200 cities in India. The milestone installation was a 200KW charger for Tata Power at a transport depot in Delhi.
The company says it has achieved this milestone in four years since its first installation after winning India’s first EV charging tender by EESL from among over 10 players in the fray in 2018.
Anant Nahata, managing director and CEO, Exicom Group said “The deployment of 5,000 EV chargers is just a stepping stone towards achieving the bigger vision of supporting a charging network for EVs for our country with products that are reliable and industry leading in terms of performance.”
The chargers have been deployed at strategic locations, and are spread across 200 cities in 20 states with majority of installations at bus depots, fleet operators, public charging stations, residential communities and households. These EV chargers comprise approximately 3,600 AC chargers and 1,400 DC chargers.
Exicom manufactures its chargers at its Gurgaon facility in Haryana, and plans to set up a new greenfield manufacturing facility in 2022-23. The new unit will treble production capacity. This, the company says, will help it to cater to not only domestic demand but also export markets. It has already begun supplying EV chargers in South East Asia, which includes DC fast charging equipment for Malaysia’s first multi-fuel filling station in Sarawak region providing petrol, hydrogen and electricity refuelling options. Exicom hopes to ship more than 20,000 EV chargers to its customers in the next fiscal.
