DSK Benelli, a prominent player with most offerings in the midsize motorcycle segment (including DSK Hyosung – all under Pune-based DSK Motowheels), has now rolled out an ABS-equipped Benelli TNT 600i.
The company had displayed the ABS updated models – TNT 600i, along with its sibling with touring applications – TNT 600GT, at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The naked-street performance motorcycle, which is powered by four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 85bhp, 600cc engine and is currently assembled at company’s upcoming Talegaon facility (near Pune), is one of the best-selling Benelli models besides TNT 25 and TNT 300.
According to the company, it has sold more than 700 units of the DSK Benelli TNT 600i since it was commercially launched in March 2015 (at Rs 5.15 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi).
The company has started accepting bookings for the new ABS updated model, which will retail at Rs 573,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The model will be available across all 16 showrooms including Pune, Mumbai, Thane, Goa, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and other cities.
Autocar Professional had reported in March that the company has a buzzing pipeline of products all set to be launched in the market in the near future. DSK Motowheels’ aggressive product strategy involves rollout of at least 8-9 new models in the next 12-18 months under the Benelli and Hyosung brands. Of these at least six new models are planned under the DSK Benelli umbrella including the just-launched ABS-equipped TNT 600i.
Other upcoming models are Tornado 300 (faired-version of the TNT 300), TRK 502 (twin-cylinder, 500cc adventure-tourer), BX 250 Motard (single-cylinder, 249cc, off-road applications) and Leoncino (twin-cylinder, 500cc scrambler type). The company is understood to be working on expanding its dealer footprint across India. Meanwhile, it is also boosting its current motorcycle assembly capacity to accommodate all the incoming models at the Talegaon plant, which according to senior company officials, should be ready in the second half of CY 2016.
