Datsun has launched the limited-edition Redigo Gold 1.0 at Rs 369,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This special edition hatchback comes with gold and black decals on the hood, roof and the doors while the cabin also gets gold-themed seats. The inside also gets ambient lighting in various colours, with a smartphone app to control it. The Gold 1.0, launched to cash in on the upcoming festive season, is available in three exterior finishes – grey, sliver and white.
As the limited-edition Redigo Gold 1.0 is based on the higher-spec T (O) trim, it is equipped with central locking with keyless entry, a lock/unlock button on the central console, front power windows and a driver-side airbag. The special edition adds an audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and a reverse parking sensor.
Mechanically, the Redigo Gold 1.0 is unchanged and is powered by the same 999cc three-cylinder petrol engine making 68hp and 91Nm of torque, and mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The new Redigo 1.0 rivals the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, the Renault Kwid 1.0 and the Hyundai Eon in the small hatchback segment.
Nissan has also launched a special, limited-edition Micra, badged as the Fashion Edition, to take advantage of the festive season.
