Volta Trucks' Dr Seshu Bhagavathula: "I see 5 big trends in the Commercial Vehicle industry: 1. Telematics 2. Vehicle architecture 3. Efficiency (driver, powertrain, vehicle, route optimisation) 4. Electrification 5. Vehicle ownership models."
Diego Graffi, CMD, Piaggio Vehicles: "Many Indian states have introduced EV policies, most of them focussed on two-wheelers and not so much three-wheelers. I believe such policies should not be segment-oriented but industry oriented. All vehicle segments should get the same treatment."
Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV: "I expect the CV industry to perform much better going forward. Need for replacement has led to higher demand. This is a big opportunity for the Indian CV industry. Road infrastructure will play a key role in overall logistics growth."
Ashok Leyland's Anuj Kathuria: "We need to look at removing inefficiencies in the system. Lots of bottlenecks in the infrastructure. Though the pace of road building is increasing, there are pockets of congestion. Proper implementation and faster turnaround time are important."
JBM Auto's Nishant Arya: "Demand creation is crucial to make electrification and CNG viable. JBM Auto is focusing on CNG and electrification and to provide end-to-end experience to our customers. Technology development needs to have a collaborative approach across the CV sector."
Aniruddha Kulkarni- VP & Head- CV Engineering, Tata Motors: "Going forward, we see changing regulations, safety aspects and environmental factors along with the change in customer demand driving frugal innovation across the CV industry."
Sanjeev Saxena, President- Automotive Technologies- Schaeffler India: "Cost a key factor in terms of the dynamics of the CV industry in India. Need to strike the optimum balance between affordability, technological advancement and competitive abilities."
Mahindra Finance's VC & MD Ramesh Iyer: "Lending dynamics evolving. From enablers, we need to become demand creators. See ‘phygital’ becoming reality."
