BorgWarner displays viscous fan drives, engine cooling fans at ACMA Automechanika

BorgWarner Cooling Systems India, which manufactures engine cooling fans and viscous clutches at its Sriperumbudur plant near Chennai, is participating at this year’s ACMA Automechanika New Delhi (March 21-24). The company’s stall is located at Hall 12A, Booth P44.

The company is showcasing viscous fan drives and engine cooling fans, which are used across a wide range of commercial vehicles starting from 1-tonne to 49 tonnes and also on various SUVs and light vehicle platforms.

The viscous fan drives offer the latest in engineering innovations, including fully modulating, cost-effective fan drives that control fan speed in direct proportion to engine cooling needs. They are the economical choice for efficiency, performance and quiet operation.

Their benefits include allowing for improved efficiency and possible fuel and horsepower savings of over 5 percent over fixed fans, zero maintenance, and enabling extended engine, belt and accessory component life. They also sense heat exchanger air temperature for accurate fan engagement.

BorgWarner polymer cooling fans range from optimised axial flow fans and ring-fans for specific installations, to new hybrid designs to cover future cooling demands. New features include improved aerodynamics and durability in the same lightweight package. Using technology-focused design methods such as FEA, CFD and MoldFlow, performance and reliability are optimised.

BorgWarner Cooling Systems India’s Sriperumbudur plant has a total production capacity of 1.3 million units and manufactures fans, viscous fan clutches and Visctronics fan clutches which help OEMs improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. The company says it has the products to support OEMs to migrate to both BS IV and BS VI. Its clientele includes Tata Motors, Tata Cummins, Ashok Leyland, Volvo Eicher, Daimler, Man Trucks, Mahindra & Mahindra, JCB, John Deere, TAFE and CNH.

BorgWarner also produces aftermarket components that are manufactured as per the same standards as the original equipment offerings.
