Yes, if the industry across Tier 1-2-3 levels embraces a culture of quality. We reveal the findings of the ACMA-McKinsey & Co study ‘Winning with Quality and Innovation’, which was part of ACMA’s 56th annual convention in New Delhi. ACMA also honoured the best suppliers for FY2015-16 – find out who the best are across manufacturing, quality and productivity, technology, exports, supplier development and HR.
Indian industry also needs to invest in disruptive R&D. As Mahindra & Mahindra’s Dr Pawan Goenka says, “While we are innovating as OEMs and suppliers, India is nowhere near fully leveraging the potential that we have in innovation in India.” Apex industry body SIAM’s annual convention saw captains of industry in an upbeat mood, thanks to buoyant vehicle sales in the past few months. The convention saw speakers urge OEMs to pursue the path of sustainability.
