Audi India launches new A4 35TDI at Rs 40.20 lakh

Audi India today launched the diesel variant of its Audi A4 sedan today, with prices starting at Rs 40,20,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The carmaker says the 2.0-litre TDI four-cylinder 190hp engine is integrated with newly developed combustion methods to deliver high fuel economy, while the redesigned seven-speed S-tronic transmission and a comprehensive line-up of infotainment and assistance systems offer both power and efficiency a reality.

The A4 35TDI accelerates from 0-100kph in 7.7 seconds, has a top speed of 237kph and delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.25kpl. The car is up to 120kg lighter than its predecessor due to adoption of what Audi says is an 'intelligent material mix'. The diesel A4 has an array of intelligent technologies including the Audi Virtual cockpit, Audi Smartphone Interface and new Audi MMI display.

On the safety front, the car gets 8 airbags, Audi Parking Aid Plus with rearview camera, ABS with EBD (Electronic brakeforce distribution) with traction control.

“The all-new Audi A4 35 TDI is a groundbreaking synthesis of technology and aesthetics. The technology available on the earlier A4 has been redeveloped so that it yet again defines the benchmark in the segment. With a tremendous response received on A4 30 TFSI, we are now introducing the A4 with a diesel engine which is even more powerful than the previous-generation A4. Whether it’s efficiency, drivability or high-class infotainment, the new A4 35 TDI once again raises the bar in its segment,” said Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India (pictured above).
