Exclusive: Audi India to fix dieselgate-affected cars soon
Audi India is set to take corrective measures to fix its cars fitted with the EA 189 engines. 36,500 Audis in India out of the 2.1 million units worldwide are affected by the scandal.
Around eight months after the Volkswagen emission scandal broke, Audi India is set to take corrective measures to fix its cars fitted with the EA 189 engines. 36,500 Audis in India out of the 2.1 million units worldwide are affected by the scandal.
Speaking to Autocar Professional, Joe King, head of Audi India, said, “We have a software upgrade to be rolled out via a service camp that will start shortly, which will update the car.”
In December last year, Volkswagen India had announced a voluntary recall of 323,700 units in the country. The recall included 198,500 cars from Volkswagen and 88,700 cars from Skoda across various models sold in India equipped with the EA 189 engines which include 1.2-litre, 1.5-litre, 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre diesels.
