Bajaj Auto's VP, Sanjay Saraswat moves to Ashok Leyland as head of global buses

Saraswat, was previously was VP (Sales) for Bajaj Auto, has around 30 years of experience spanning across manufacturing, sales, service, network development and marketing.

Bajaj Auto's VP, Sanjay Saraswat moves to Ashok Leyland as head of global buses

Ashok Leyland has appointed Sanjay Saraswat as its senior vice-president and head of Global Buses. Prior to joining Ashok Leyland, Saraswat was the vice-president for sales operations and headed sales planning for motorcycle major, Bajaj Auto.

Saraswat has around 30 years of experience spanning across manufacturing, sales, service, network development and marketing. He is a mechanical engineer from IIT Delhi (1988 batch). He will replace T Venkataraman who retired in October 2017. In his new role, he will lead the Global Buses business unit and will report to Vinod Dasari, MD, Ashok Leyland.

Commenting on the appointment, Vinod Dasari said, “We are delighted to welcome Sanjay Saraswat to Ashok Leyland. He brings in-depth industry, market and cultural experience to the company’s leadership team. His exceptional knowledge of industry trends combined with his cross-section of business experience will be of tremendous value to the company.”

During his three-decade association with Bajaj Auto, Saraswat handled sales planning, field service, service planning, network development, logistics, and special projects. He has had extensive exposure and significant learning across functions in Bajaj Auto where he joined as a graduate engineer trainee in 1988.
