Ampere Vehicles plans Experience Centre in Ranipet
Ampere plans to develop an Experience Centre which is a mix of physical and digital experience.
With the electric vehicle industry gaining traction, particularly over the past six months or so, EV OEMs are also gearing up to provide differential retail experience. Ampere Electric, the e-mobility arm of Greaves Cotton, is the latest to do so.
The company, earlier this year, announced plans to substantially increase its EV manufacturing capacity with a Rs 700 crore investment, spread over 10 years. This programme will see manufacturing capacity being increased in three phases starting with 100,000 units, going up to 250,000 units and thereon to a million units annually.
With the target buyers being millennials, e-two-wheeler OEMs are aggressively trying new marketing techniques to draw and retain young consumers. Now, in a move similar to e-two-wheeler rivals like Ather Energy, the company has revealed plans to deploy a hybrid retail sales model – a phygital Experience Centre in Ranipet.
The new Ampere Experience Center in Ranipet will enable consumers to check out the latest products, interact with EV experts, engage through digital interfaces to explore the intricacies of EVs and even quaff coffee at a lounge bar.
