Automechanika, the world’s leading trade fair for the automotive aftermarket industry, is set to open its doors in Frankfurt later today till September 17.
As the world’s biggest trade fair for the automotive aftermarket, Automechanika spotlights innovations and solutions in the fields of parts, systems, tuning, workshop equipment, bodywork and paintwork, car wash, IT and management and the latest automobile services.
Representing India‘s strengths in these key segments, over 175 automotive component manufacturers including 52 ACMA members will be presenting their products and innovations at the fair for five days (Hall 6.2). As always, Automechanika Frankfurt makes for a good platform for Indian auto component manufacturers to explore aftermarket business opportunities and connect with global auto component suppliers.
“ACMA is delighted to participate at the renowned and successful aftermarket trade fair Automechanika Frankfurt,” said Rattan Kapur, president, ACMA. Among the exhibiting companies from India at Automechanika Frankfurt this year are leading players like Sona Koyo Steering Systems, Shriram Pistons & Rings, Talbros Automotive Components, Nipman Fastners Industries, Lucas TVS, Sigma Corporation India, Mansons International, Bajaj Bearings, and Ample Autotech, among others.
ACMA, Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Department of Industrial Policy & Promotions, government of India (DIPP), and Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India are participating collectively with over 175 Indian auto component manufacturers, marking it as the sixth largest participation among the exhibiting companies.
In the domestic market, the Indian aftermarket business is expected to grow to an estimated US$ 30-32 billion by 2026 from the current US$ 6.5 billion, indicating a surge in demand for spare parts in the Indian vehicle parc. The Indian edition of Automechanika – ACMA Automechanika New Delhi – is scheduled to be held from March 21-24, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Biggest Automechanika Frankfurt yet
This year 4,820 exhibitors (2014: 4,660) are expected at the world's leading international trade fair in its field, Automechanika Frankfurt. They work in fields covering equipment, components, accessories, management and services. Around 1,000 of them supply parts for commercial and freight vehicles.
The event covers an area of 305,000 square metres in all, once again occupying the entire Exhibition Centre. It has achieved growth not only in terms of exhibitors, but also in terms of the level of international participation. Companies from a total of 76 different countries (2014:74) will be presenting themselves and their products to a huge international trade and professional public from the wholesale and retail trades, from industry and from the workshop sector.
Detlef Braun, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, says of the role of the show as a barometer for the sector: “The top position of the motor vehicle industry and the motor-vehicle retail trade is reflected in a new record for levels of participation in Automechanika in Frankfurt.” According to the Institute for Retail Research IFH, Köln, business sectors that are covered by the Automechanika trade fair account for total revenues of approximately 1.35 trillion euros in the EU27 countries.
The major topics covered by this year's show include concepts of mobility and modes of transport in the future and the corresponding services and workshop solutions, together with the Innovation Awards and initial and further training.
The Frankfurt Festhalle will become a 'laboratory of the future' at Automechanika Frankfurt. Visitors to the trade fair can expect a pyrotechnic display of innovation and pioneering ideas for both individual mobility and freight transport, in both private cars and commercial vehicles. The companies come from the components industry, the workshop equipment sector, software development, vehicle manufacture and the development and marketing of accessories, as well as from the energy business and the transport and logistics trades. Key areas of focus in the exhibition include e-mobility, telematic systems and solutions for internal and external networking of vehicles, with also apps and software solutions for vehicle networking, for intelligent traffic control and applications for effective fleet management.
