Suzuki Motor Corp notches highest-ever overseas production in January
Of SMC's total overseas production of 202,902 units in January, Maruti Suzuki India contributed 153,262 units or 75 percent.
Suzuki Motor Corp (SMC), which released preliminary numbers for automobile production in January 2017,has hit record manufacturing levels.
In Japan, production volume increased for the first time in 23 months due to an increase in production for both the domestic market as well as exports.
Overseas production volume at 202,902 units (+114.6%) recorded the highest ever monthly volume as a result of growing consumer demand in various markets including India and Thailand. Maruti Suzuki India manufactured a total of 153,362 units (+32.46% YoY) in January, which constitutes an overwhelming 75.58% of SMC's total overseas production volume.
As a result, SMC’s cumulative global production volume became the highest ever for January due to an increase in both Japan and overseas production.
