Suzuki debuts 1.4 Boosterjet DI turbo petrol at Shanghai
Suzuki Motor Corporation has revealed the Boosterjet, its new 1.4-litre direct-injection turbo petrol engine
Suzuki Motor Corporation has revealed the Boosterjet, its new 1.4-litre direct-injection turbo petrol engine, on the opening day of the 16th Shanghai Motor Show which is being held from April 20-29. At the Geneva Show earlier this year, it had showcased the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine which is installed in the iK-2, Suzuki’s new compact hatchback concept which is also displayed at Shanghai.
Suzuki says the Boosterjet offers dynamic performance along with high fuel efficiency. These are achieved by reducing fuel consumption through direct injection, high torque from a turbocharger and a compact design.
The lightweight engine features an optimised layout and weight-reduction technology to meet rigorous size and weight requirements in vehicle development. China will be the first market where Suzuki launches a model installed with the Boosterjet before expanding it globally.
